I am Ho Cheuk Hei, a form six student. My favorite activity is all about music. I love music very much. The most interest thing for me is of course music. My favorite instrument is the piano. When I was young, I always listened to my sister playing the piano. At first, I felt very noisy, and later began to feel that the melodies were very pleasant. Then, I began to learn the piano at the age of ten. Now I had been learning piano for 8 years. As we all know, learning piano is very expensive nowadays. This is not every family can afford to get it. Luckily, my parents are very supportive of me. I started learning from the basic. At first I thought it was difficult to play the piano, but I did not give up. The reason is I love music a lot. Learning piano can makes me become persistent and patient as I need to practice all the time. When I was F.4 I joined the Music club in my school as I want to make use of my music knowledge. I was the chairperson of the club. The most memorable activity that I held in is the Singing Contest. At that time, we had meeting every day. All things included decorations; hosting and stage management was our works. This experience elevates my communication skills and team spirit as we need to complete those works together. Added to this, my problem solving ability also get improvement since we needed to solve problem by ourselves when we faced difficulties. I think being a chairperson of the Music Club helped me to be mature and confident because I needed to allocate works to other members. Thus, I needed to lead them and got along well with them to assure our team could achieved all the works. I was grateful to having his opportunity to take part in the work of Music Club and I think if I can have another occasion at university, it will help me to integrating into the society and working community. Among all activities I have joined in the past two years, being an ambassador of Mentorship Program. The main aim of this program is to help junior form students to adapt to our school life. We will have gathering once a month. We will play games with junior form students and try to know their needs. Other than that, every gathering is arranged by ambassador. Thus, every ambassador will have experience of holding games. Through this experience, I have learned how to be confident to speak in front of people. On top of that, my resilience also get improvement as we can’t estimate student’s reaction and what will be happen in next second. The Mentorship Program also has enhance my communication skills through learning how to communicate with junior form students and my groupmates. It was my pleasure to join this program and I think if I can make use of the things that I learned from this program, that will be useful for my future career and my university school life. Besides my school life, my Off - campus life is fruitful, too. When I was study in primary school, I was learned an instrument called Handbells. After graduate, I join the Handbells Alumni Team. We have practice time every week. We participated in many shows and competitions. In this year, we had our own mini-concert. To arrange this concert, we needed to do everything by ourselves just like finding places and sponsors. This experience is meaningful for me as it can make Handbells become well-known and more people can enjoy the amazing sounds of Handbells. Because of Handbells, I become out-going and Self-discipline as we need to have practice actively. These are useful for my future. I am a responsible and optimistic person. I feel excited when facing challenges on study and playing piano. I am not afraid of these. I will not give up trying to continue. Music is the world language. I always communicate with others about music. In addition, I also have a strong craving for knowledge. When there are difficulties on my studies. I will try my best to solve them. Although my academic results may not be as good as others, I am try my best all the ties. I believe that where is a will, there is a way. I am strongly interested in the study of Music. I am addicted to music. I am sure that tertiary education can provide me with an opportunity to analyze and examine them more deeply. It can widen my horizons about music. After the secondary school life, it is the time to turn a new leaf. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to study in the tertiary education I must grasp all opportunities if I would be given any chances.
