About me: I am a IB student (class of 2025) studying at Sha Tin College. I am taking the Bilingual Diploma and am fluent in Cantonese, Chinese and English (speaking, reading, writing, listening). I am very patient and have been tutoring MYP and IGCSE students at school for a year now. Academics: I achieved 9A* in IGCSEs and am predicted 43/45 for IB, so I am confident in my ability in explaining concepts and teaching exam techniques. Additional information: I have my own set of study notes that I use to tutor my students and I have great communication and critical thinking skills. I was a part of Model United Nations, Student Council, and was the President of a Joint School Association. I can also provide a lot of insight for the new science syllabuses since I will be the first year group taking it!

Basic Introduction I have taken IBDP in high school at Shanghai Shangde Experimental School and obtained 41/45 in the finanl exam. I have taken Mathematics(HL) 7/7, Physics(HL) 7/7, English B(HL) 7/7, Chemistry(HL)6/7, Geography(SL) 6/7, Chinese A Literature(SL) 6/7. I have also taken SAT exam in high school and obtained 1520/1600, and SAT subject tests with MATHII 800/800, Physics 790/800. I went to study for a bachelor's degree in physics at HKUST and graduated in 2023 with 2:1 degrees. Then I went to study for a master's degree in mathematics at University of Zurich in Switzerland and obatined good results. Currently I have returned to HK. I am good at tutoring for mathematics and physics. Tutoring Experience UZH: Analysis for natural sciences I helped a student to prepare for the repetition exam for analysis for natural sciences at UZH, which is a first-year mathematics course offered to student from other science departments. The topics include vector arithmetic, differential and integral calculus, differential equations, and functions of several variables. As a tutor, I explained topics from the textbook, demonstrated necessary tricks to solve problems, giving feedbacks on a student performance, and predicted the topics that might occur in the repetition exam. IB MATH IA SL Tutoring: I also have tutoring experience in IB mathematics IA SL, where we have covered the majority topics of the course. I am helping a student to prepare for the mock exam by offering zoom tutoring. As a tutor, I prepared the content from the textbooks, demonstrated how to solve the problems, give students homework exercises to practice and solve past paper questions to prepare for the mock exam.

I'm a Postdoctoral fellow at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I'm looking for part-time teaching duties to share my knowledge and skills in STEM fields. I obtained my PhD from the same university with a major of Biophysical Chemistry. As a researcher, I have a vast working knowledge and understanding of every branch of chemistry, as well as molecular biology and classical-to-modern physics. As teaching has been my passion, I have 8 years of teaching experience which includes Professorial Lecturer position at universities and private tutoring for Science and Maths subjects from secondary to university level. Due to the student-tailored tutorial methods, the students have observed significant changes in their understanding of the subject and thus their test scores. My teaching methods include theory and real-life examples/application tailored based on the students' capabilities and learning strengths. I also present step by step solution for problem solving questions to guide the students' critical thinking. Furthermore, practice tests will be given to assess the progress or level of understanding. Mock exams for upcoming official exams are provided as necessary. In general, my teaching style is conversational and interactive.
