在小學時開始接觸中國和國際象棋，從此便愛上棋藝活動。初中後到外國留學，但對象棋的熱誠沒有隨年月減退，每天總會在網上和不同的棋手對弈及交流。 大學畢業後回流香港工作，除了在銀行工作之外，本人大部分時間都是花在棋藝教學上; 每周，我都會到不同的中小學及興趣班教授學生下棋技巧。 曾多次代表銀行棋隊參加比賽及獲得優異成績。擁有超過十年的棋藝教學經驗，學生包括國際學校學生及成人學員。本人個性開朗隨和，喜歡和學生交流。是一位有熱誠有愛心的棋藝班導師。

I'm a 35yo non-local, non-traditional student at CityU. I'm especially creative, having designed a new sport and 2 board games. That's because I have a unique way of solving problems through out-of-the-box thinking patterns. If your child(ren) is creative, I can help develop them into by sharing related skills. Even if you think your child is not, I can help nurture the creativity within them without much difficulty. [Personal achievement] I got a score of 1530 in SAT with only 1 try. My other inventions include a new food dish, and an upcoming new musical instrument. [Teaching experience] I tutored secondary students in Math, Physics, and other subjects. My strength is English, for I have an 8-band score in IELTS. [Personal advantage] I design my own courses. My teaching philosophy is that, when a person is interested in something, they will pursue it enthusiastically without any need for external motivation. So my lessons focus on rousing in the student the love for a particular subject, and after that they will do lots of further study all on their own. Combine such an intense interest with creativity, and your child will have already possessed the formula for breakthrough successes.

Born in Estonia and trained as an actor in Paris, I bring a rare combination of European artistic training and structured, logical thinking. In English, I work with students to build fluency and precision, whether they're preparing for exams, presentations, or simply gaining confidence in conversation. And in acting, I teach more than performance: I teach presence, self-expression, and the ability to communicate with clarity and emotion—on stage, on camera, and in life. About Me: Hi, I'm Daniel! I have been playing chess for 6 years and I graduated from Lancaster University in Linguistics. I've played tournaments abroad in multiple countries such as Spain, Serbia and Thailand. I've won some tournaments and got also 2nd place in multiple opens. I'm 2000 FIDE and 2600 in online chess. I have drawn several grandmasters and beaten IMs and FMs too. Ever since I began chess, I have been constantly passionate about it every single day, and I have also always been eager to share my knowledge about it! I currently have multiple students ranging from 1000 to 1700 FIDE, and I'm open to teaching both kids and adults. I can either teach you the rules from scratch or train you to become a stronger tournament player if you already play competitively. I have a certificate as an ECU School Chess teacher that makes me qualified to teach chess to younger kids both one-on-one and in groups in schools. I will hopefully help you improve and understand the game fast :)  About the lesson: I can teach all levels from beginner to advanced, as well as all ages. I have fun learning and playing chess, and so I will also make the lessons a combination of learning and fun in a relaxed yet productive environment. If you're completely new to the game, I will teach you how to play it well and show you how amazing the game is. If you've already played some tournaments and you're more experienced, you can send me some tournament games before the lesson and I will analyse key positions with you and improve your ability to evaluate positions and your critical thinking skills. We will use the website lichess to analyse positions from games and can call on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Once I understand where your strengths and weaknesses lie, I will devise a strategy to help you improve in the best possible way, whether that be with your openings, middlegames or endgames. I am good at openings, so I love to look at opening theory but it is also important to keep your tactics sharp and play endgames well. At the same time, the lessons will be interesting and fun! Lessons would be 60 minutes long, and my schedule will be flexible according to whatever is most convenient for you.

本人曾畢業（1998年）於中國深圳大學中國文化與傳播系，於2013年移居香港，並長期在港任職上市公司經理工作，同時兼職補習及為自己子女補習，最成功的經驗是幫助子女補習提升中英數成績，考上bank1中學。另外本人亦擅長乒乓球運動（曾經是大學主修體育項目並入選校隊）、中國書法、小提琴演奏，希望我之所學能為學子們有所幫助，如蒙不棄，深感恩慰。
