Hi! My name is Denise and I am a 25-year-old Native English teacher with a genuine love for teaching. With six years of teaching experience under my belt, I have had the pleasure of working with individuals aged 3 to 18, helping them excel in their English language skills. I hold a degree in English Language and Literature from City University, which has further fueled my passion for the subject. Currently, I am working as an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) teacher, specializing in supporting children with special needs. This role has allowed me to combine my teaching expertise with my dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of these incredible young learners. Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure of teaching in various environments, including tutor centers, private homes, kindergartens, local primary and secondary schools, and even an international school. This diverse range of experiences has equipped me with the adaptability and flexibility needed to connect with students from different backgrounds and learning styles. My teaching repertoire is quite extensive, covering everything from phonics, grammar, and creative writing to interview preparation, GCSE English, IB English, IELTS preparation, UK 11+ preparation, and DSE preparation. I love the challenge of tailoring my lessons to meet the unique needs and goals of each student, ensuring that learning is both enjoyable and effective. I pride myself on my excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which have allowed me to build strong relationships with my students, their parents, and my colleagues. Despite that, I am still very capable of teaching the English language in a general sense. I have also worked in an education center, primarily with clients studying in international schools, which gave me a plethora of insights about various international syllabi.

I am a 22-year old graduate from the University of St Andrews, where I received a First Class Master of Arts (Honours) in Economics and International Relations. In high school, I achieved straight A*s and one A in IGCSE, and graduated from the IB diploma with a 44 (including all 7s for Higher Levels). I achieved 100% for IGCSE English Literature. I have a proven track record of academic excellence, which is the result of my unique method of study. I will be able to share study notes with students. Alongside tutoring, I can offer support and advice on study and revision methods to my students. I am passionate about using my first-hand experience to help students achieve their best.
