My name is Charmaine. Although I was born in HK, I moved to Beijing at the age of 12 and attended international school since. I am therefore fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. I began tutoring since high school. I was a one-to-one tutor on various subjects, teacher assistant for language classes, and an English teacher at local primary schools. After completing the IB Bilingual Diploma, I earned a BFA in UBC. After that, I taught in multiple local primary and secondary schools as a native English teacher, but also took on other private tutor cases on other subjects.

I have more than five years’ experience in education having undertaken teaching posts in Australia, China and Hong Kong. I have taught a variety of English courses including general, business and academic English and exam preparation courses for IGCSE, IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, PET, KET, SAT, SSAT and HKDSE. In this post I lead a department of seven teachers and was responsible for allocating duties, creating professional development programs, creating and editing examinations and course and material development. I also conducted the IGCSE speaking exams on behalf of Cambridge University and provided feedback sessions to ensure progression.
