I am Sherman Yeung, from Hong Kong. I just finished a Health Care Science Foundation course in University of East Anglia. I am going to study in physiotherapy year 1 for the coming September. Last summer, I took up a part time job as a waiter in a Japanese restaurant. I realized how helpful it was to be able to read people’s facial expressions and being observant, which helped me recognize what the customers need so that I could provide it swiftly without any mistakes. Just like treating students, we should observe their facial expression, emotions and nonverbal communication as well as listening to what they say. This summer, I really hope that I could gain some experience on teaching all ages students, because as a health care professional in the future, having an excellent interpersonal skills is a must. Through this experience, I really hope that I can show that I do have all of the NHS values and train my patience to students and patients in the future to show that I ready for my physiotherapy course and going to be a good health care professional in the future.
