Hello Parent of Prospective Student, My name’s Harry Lam. I was born and raised in Hong Kong until Form 3 until I left for boarding school in the US, where I stayed throughout my adolescent years until I graduated from college at USC. I was an active tutor most of my time there. My teaching philosophy focuses 3 core components: exploration, cultural immersion and practice. Like many other acquired abilities, English is a skill that can be improved over time through structured planning and practicing, which is exactly what I offer my students. My first lesson with your child will be an assessment of his/her abilities during which I will gauge his/her speaking, reading, writing and vocabulary. The subsequent lessons will, as I described above, employ books, music, videos, and homework that I provide to enact my core principles to help your child build a solid foundation, improve his/her performance in school, and most importantly, be more confident in his/her abilities as an English speaker.
