Sciences and Mathematics: The methods I mainly will focus on are taking notes with the student throughout class and note provision on specific topics that explains the key concepts step by step until the student gains full understanding (it is always better to understand the process and the reasoning in science than just remembering the facts!). This would be more beneficial than going through subject powerpoints as this ensures the student receives their own personalised learning notes by the end of each lesson for future revision and also to have obtained necessary knowledge. I would teach by going through the Exam Board’s specifications to ascertain the students’ understanding of each topic and follow both the students’ needs in school and their own personal needs (which I would plan out for each student). Going through past paper questions would be a significant part of the lesson (which I would be providing) as not only this acts as a consolidation method to further reinforce the knowledge secured into the student’s longterm memory, it would also assist very much in helping the student learning the skills or keywords in answering scientific questions during examinations. Primary English: Guiding the student through English, I will fulfil their needs in school by providing them writing practises in class. From imaginative writing to transactional writing or even analytical writing(PEEL, PEAL, PEE, PEA), I will prepare the student by letting them discover their own writing styles in transactional and imaginative writings and develop rational thinking to approach analytical writings. For children who are younger, I will help their grammar and vocabulary skills by going through worksheets and guiding them through writing small narratives by themselves.
