I am currently a Year 2 Law student at Durham University and a native English speaker. I achieved an IELTS score of 8.5, Grade 9 in IGCSE English Language and IGCSE English Speaking. I am patient and enjoy helping students build confidence in English. Rather than teaching in a formulaic way, i focus on helping students develop a genuine understanding of English, allowing them to apply their knowledge with confidence. I encourage students to work through their thought process and develop confidence in their own abilities, while providing guidance whenever they need it. Having been involved in debating and public speaking for many years, I understand the importance of clear communication, critical thinking and expressing ideas with confidence. These are skills that i hope to help students develop alongside their English ability. Although I have not worked as a private tutor before, i have helped classmates through after-school support programmes in both primary and secondary school. Through this experience, I learned how to explain concepts clearly and adapt my approach to suit different students. I also prepare personalised notes and materials based on each student’s needs. Lessons are structured yet flexible, with clear goals to strengthen understanding, improve exam performance and build confidence in using English.
