I am currently a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and an IBDP graduate from International College Hong Kong. I am a native English speaker and completed my entire education in English. I specialize in IB Film Studies HL/SL and the Film Studies Extended Essay. I placed 1st in my IBDP cohort with 39 points, earning a Grade 7 in IB Film Studies HL (with a 7 in every component) and a Grade A in my Film Extended Essay. My tutoring focuses on training students to understand what IB Film is really about. I help students shift from simple plot summaries to sharp critical analysis, sharing strategies to master fundamental filmic elements, including socio-cultural context, editing, cinematography, and mise-en-scène aligned directly with IB assessment criteria. I also assist students in Hong Kong with location scouting to enhance visual depth and atmosphere, combining filmmaking theory with practical applications in Adobe Premiere Pro and BandLab to elevate their technical editing and production value. Because IB Film is entirely based on coursework, receiving targeted feedback and understanding examiner criteria is essential. Through my guidance, I provide first-hand experience, coursework examples, and proven resources to make the subject engaging while ensuring students achieve top-band results.
