I have more than five years’ experience in education having undertaken teaching posts in Australia, China and Hong Kong. I have taught a variety of English courses including general, business and academic English and exam preparation courses for IGCSE, IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, PET, KET, SAT, SSAT and HKDSE. I have taught adults, teenagers and young children from around the world in single and multi-cultural classroom contexts. I have several years’ experience teaching academic English. In Australia, I taught IELTS preparation lessons focusing on the fundamentals of essay writing, higher level grammar and academic English. In this post I lead a department of seven teachers and was responsible for allocating duties, creating professional development programs, creating and editing examinations and course and material development. My teaching duties consisted of instructing general English, IELTS, TOEFL and IGCSE preparation classes. I also conducted the IGCSE speaking exams on behalf of Cambridge University and provided feedback sessions to ensure progression.
