Hi, I’m Dhruv, a final-year student at HKUST. My aim is to help students understand what they’re learning. My teaching style focuses on making complex ideas feel simple and approachable. I will guide students in breaking down challenging topics into clear, manageable steps and help them establish a mental framework to approach similar problems confidently in the future. When students are unsure about a process or concept, I walk them through it step by step, explaining not just how to solve it but why each step matters. This approach helps them not only to understand how the process is to be completed but also the reasoning behind why we should take that step towards achieving the desired goal.

Hello! I am currently based in Hong Kong as I approach my last semester at the University of British Columbia; I will be graduating with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in the Theatre and Film Acting program, with a minor in psychology. I grew up bilingually and was taught Mandarin in school. Before moving to Canada, I went to Victoria Shanghai Academy and graduated with an IB diploma. I have worked as a TA at Kid’s Gallery teaching Musical theatre, Communication Arts (Speech and Debate) and Visual Arts. I am currently a TA at Twinkle Dance Company, I have been working since 2021 on and off; giving me a handful of experience with children from the age of 2-15. I am so excited to share the joy of learning and inspiration with you.

I have researched and visited many cities and regions in Mainland China. I have been using Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) and English, Mandarin and Cantonese in my daily work and life, communicating and collaborating with people of a varieties of cultural and language backgrounds, familiar with daily life, academic, professional and business communications, etc., in Chinese and English, oral and writing. I am deeply interested in and good at literature, history and culture, of wide knowledge and experience, and have made written works and poems from time to time. Hi! I have been in an international school since Year 1 and have completed PYP, MYP, and IBDP. I take courses in Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Math AA, Chinese A, and English Language and Literature. Throughout the past two years, I have held multiple clubs that tutor students that are struggling in their academics.
