Introduction
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Brian began his piano studies with Miss Hui Ling at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and is currently pursuing a BM in Piano Performance at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Alexander Kobrin.
Brian has given performances in various countries, ranging from Finland and China to the United States and Japan. Among his major musical accomplishments, he won the First Prize and Gold Medal in the International Children’s Arts Exhibition match of China-Japan-Korea, First Prizes in the 59th, 63rd and 65th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Competition (HKSMF), including the "Composer of the Year and Franz Liszt" category as well as Piano Solo categories. He became a laureate of the 4th Kawai Asia Piano Competition (Junior Group and Chopin recital) as well as the 14th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia (Junior High) in 2013. More recently, he was awarded the First Prize in the MMTA Concerto Competition (Senior Division) with Chopin’s concerto in E-minor in 2016.
Brian has also been invited to a number music festivals, including the Sejong International Music Festival and Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy, where he collaborated with other young musicians and performed chamber music. As a committed composer, he was also nominated as the “Student of The Year and performing artist” in Hong Kong.
