Katie TANG Hoiching Born in Hong Kong, Katie’s music ranges from choral to both Chinese and Western ensemble and orchestral pieces. She is currently 17 years old, studying composition under the supervision of Mr. WONG Hokyeung, Alfred and the piano under Dr. Cherry TSANG Chitlai. Katie is active in composing in recent years. Her Dizi (Chinese flute) Trio piece ,“Hope”, has been awarded by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. Her choral composition, “The Summer Rain”, was performed by her school choir. She was once a student conductor of the school choir and orchestra and the principal Dizi (Chinese flute) in the Hong Kong Music Office Junior Chinese Orchestra. She has performed publicly as a member of a orchestra and piano accompanist. Katie also received distinction in her ATCL piano recital and merit in Grade 8 Dizi (Chinese flute) exam. She is also advanced in vocal singing.
