Hello! I am a second-year Biological Sciences student at City University of Hong Kong. Born in Hong Kong, I moved to the United Kingdom at age two and lived there until ten before returning to my home city. This experience gave me fluent English as my mother tongue and a rich multicultural background. It has shaped me into someone who values adaptability, clear communication, and cross-cultural understanding. I achieved a 5* in HKDSE English, with 5** in both Writing and Speaking. As a bilingual speaker (native English and Cantonese), I speak English daily and use Cantonese with family. This allows me to explain concepts clearly in the way that best suits each student. With tutoring experience across different age groups (ages 5 and 15), I have developed proven strategies to create engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate lessons that truly resonate with students. Passionate about English education, I bring patience, enthusiasm, and resilience to every session. My student-centred approach focuses on building solid foundations in reading comprehension, creative writing, speaking confidence, vocabulary development, and grammar, while fostering genuine enjoyment and long-term confidence in the language. I specialise in English, but I am also happy to tutor core subjects like math and science for younger students. I genuinely enjoy helping students not only improve their grades but also develop long-term confidence and a real interest in the language. As an avid reader (especially self-improvement and personal development books), I’m always looking for new ways to inspire and motivate my students. I am available this summer for in-person lessons or online via Zoom, and am very flexible with scheduling. I also provide comprehensive notes and tailored materials for every student.
