Basic situation] I am an IB graduate and a current undergraduate degree student at the University of Hong Kong, studying Global Development and Health with a minor in Finance. My classes are in English. I am patient, hardworking and used to explaining ideas in clear, simple language. I am available on weekends and want to help students build confidence in English. [Personal achievements] HKU CGPA 3.50/4.3. Medical Faculty Dean’s List 2024–25 (top 10%). Fluent English and Spanish, with conversational Mandarin and French. I have interned at HSBC and Third Bridge, worked as a research assistant on WHO-related projects at HKU, led a winning HKU SEED team, and won 2nd prize in the Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. [Teaching/tutoring experience] I do not have formal tutoring experience yet. I do have a lot of practice explaining things clearly: I have prepared slides and presented to investors, WHO partners, and senior staff at HSBC. I have also led a small student team and helped teammates understand tasks step by step. [Personal advantage] English is the language I study and work in every day. I can keep lessons structured and calm, go through homework slowly, and explain grammar or writing in plain words. I show up on time, prepare in advance, and will follow the student’s school work rather than making the lesson more complicated than it needs to be.
