I am a US-trained biologist and experienced university educator with a PhD in Marine Ecology from The University of Hong Kong and a BSc in Marine Biology from the University of Oregon. I offer one-to-one online tutoring in Biology, General Science, and Ecology, with a specialty in Marine Biology. I have a particular interest in supporting secondary-school and international-curriculum students. I find I am particularly skilled in making difficult concepts clear and helping students develop understanding and confidence. Helping students realize their own abilities is often the biggest obstacle to learning. I also have several years of experience as a freelance academic editor, working with scientific research papers from researchers around the world. This means I am able to help students with academic English, essay writing, scientific writing, and reading comprehension. I am patient, supportive, and adaptable, adjusting to each student's needs. I am happy to work with parents and students to create a learning plan based on their required material and needs.
