I was born in Hong Kong, and spent my first 12 years there. Then I moved to the UK for 3 years to complete IGCSEs. Afterwards I went to the US for 8 years (7 years in California, 1 year in Virginia) to attain my bachelor’s degree, work as a Junior Specialist, and earn my master’s degree. I am back to Hong Kong since 2013, and after a brief stint as a Research Assistant, I decided to pursue a doctoral degree. I am now in my final year of completion of the doctoral degree. My background is research in the life sciences, medical, and computer science disciplines, but I have always had a close to native level grasp of English since young. I decided I am interested in tutoring English since the language is universal and surely is one of, if not the most important subject. Through my studies and learnings from professors from around the world, I realised one of my main strengths is communicating academics to others in a clear, concise and interesting manner. I have experience in both tutoring adults (chemistry) and children (English). My goal in finding an English tutoring part-time position is to make learning English fun for kids, guide them to achieve better heights in their studies, and to practice and apply my own skills as a teacher.
