Hi, my name is Charlene. I lived in England when I was a child, so my English is fluent. I graduated from Renaissance College (international school) with an IB diploma (HL subjects: English A1, Mandarin B, Theatre/ SL subjects: Math Studies, Psychology, Biology). I'm now a year one student at HKU with a major in English Studies and classes in Psychology. I have had training in counselling peers and serviced my secondary school for 3 years. Dear Sir / Madam, Even though I am a master’s student at The University of Manchester (UK), majoring in Nuclear Science and Technology, I wasn't good at studying from the very beginning. During my junior high school, I was a probational student achieving the worst grades possible. Until one day, a peer of mine gave me a speech and some skills which changed my whole attitude towards studying. From that point onwards, I was getting academic scholarships almost every single year. Having the skills to study is important but I would rather emphasize having the correct mindset (As most of the kids these days don't really know what they are studying for) One of my previous students managed to grind his way up from an average score of E to a B, after half a year of tutoring. I am Jonathan, I am currently a year 3 undergraduate student studying Chinese Medicine at the University of Hong Kong. Previously, I studied in a full english learning and teaching environment at an International School for 9years (from 4th to 12th grade) and achieved a final grade of 6 in IB, thus I consider English as my first language. With my fluent English, I am confident to provide full English teaching and English essay editing for my students. Furthermore, I am fluent in Chinese and Cantonese. In addition, I am more than capable to tutor Biology as I achieved a final grade of 7 in IB Biology HL and I am also currently studying Medicine in University. Last but not least, I have the patience and passion for teaching, as well as tutoring experience with children ranging from 5 year old to 18 year old.

I graduated high school with the International Baccalaureate(IB) bilingual diploma and received a final grade of 42 out of 45. I am currently studying the Bachelor of Physiotherapy at PolyU. I have 3 years experience in tutoring IB, IGCSE and AP Biology. I achieved a grade of 7/7 for Biology and Chemistry Higher Level and Maths AASL in my IB exam. I was also awarded the overall academic scholarship in high school. I competed in a Biological Health Exhibition Competition held by CUHK Faculty of Medicine and received first place. My personal experience on IB and IGCSE enables me to better understand my student’s learning progress and difficulties. I will make my lessons interactive, and explain the content to my students in the simplest way possible to facilitate understanding. I will also teach my students the content with real world examples to facilitate better knowledge application and hence exam techniques. I will adjust my teaching style according to my student’s needs and design personalized learning programs for my students to enhance their learning experience and grades. I hope to approach my students in a friendly manner so they would feel comfortable to reach out to me whenever they have any questions or feel confused about the subject content.

本人2001年畢業於香港大學理學院地球科學系，並曾擔任港大研究助理。畢業後成為全職補習教師，並成為港島東區補習中心中學部課程主管。現時亦被聘為香港著名上市補習學校之單對單特聘導師，專責拔尖補底。本人主要任教數理科目，尤擅長教授化學、生物、數學及物理，屢有學生在公開考試奪佳績，包括HKDSE、IGCSE及IB等。 提供有系統練習題，個別科目可提供筆記，務求為學生解決疑難，讓學生能有進步，考取佳績。 已申請性罪行記錄查核表，獲聘後可供家長索取查閱。
