Hi, I’m Jack, a Year 3 student from CUHK, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Earth and Environmental Science. Here’s an introduction about myself: 1. Education I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (New Asia College), with an expected graduation in July 2026. My minor is in Earth and Environmental Science. Relevant coursework includes Data Structures, Introduction to Database Systems, Software Engineering, Introduction to Computing Using Java, Climate System Dynamics, Introduction to Environmental Science, and Solid Earth Dynamics. I’ve received several awards, including the 2024 New Asia College Dr. Wong Shek Hung Memorial Scholarship, 2023 New Asia College Sages Scholarship, and 2022 CUHK Faculty of Engineering Admission Scholarship. 2. Interests I’m passionate about leveraging technology to address environmental challenges, particularly in developing accurate weather forecasting tools. I enjoy data analysis and visualization, especially with climate datasets, such as my Python-based Tropical Cyclone Tracks Visualization project. I also love exploring interdisciplinary fields, having attended summer programs at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and UCL (UK), where I studied astrophysics, biodiversity, and public art. Additionally, I’m interested in virtual reality (VR) game development and generative music programming. 3. Personality Traits & Strengths I’m curious, detail-oriented, and logical, with a knack for breaking down complex problems and devising innovative solutions. I thrive in collaborative settings, as seen in my work on VR educational games and generative music projects with diverse teams. My interdisciplinary background enables me to approach issues from multiple perspectives, especially at the intersection of technology and environmental science.
