I am Dr. Lars Thomsen, a passionate computational physicist with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Hong Kong and a Master’s from the University of Copenhagen. Inspired by exceptional teachers who integrated technology into science through simulations and data analysis, I have developed a love for using programming and mathematics to solve complex problems. Currently, I work part-time as a senior research assistant at the University of Hong Kong, where I study how black holes devour stars and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects. My goal is to inspire others to pursue science through the use of technology. I offer private tutoring for primary and secondary students looking to develop their intuition in mathematics and physics, preparing them for future academic success. With my expertise, I can teach all grade levels and effectively prepare students for the DSE and IB exams, as well as improving their overall grades. I believe that effective education goes beyond simply providing answers or relying solely on textbooks. My approach centres on fostering intuition and a deep understanding of fundamental principles through a student-centred learning model that emphasises questioning and critical thinking.
