范錦烽於2004年開始學習薩克管，曾師隨朱穎恆先生、曾敏思小姐﹑梁國章先生及黃德釗博士。於2015年考獲英國倫敦聖三一音樂學院LTCL演奏文憑，2017年參加歐洲易北河谷國際音樂節香港區邀請賽，奪得木管樂組冠軍，並於第一屆及第二屆 Asia Pacific Saxophone Competition晉身決賽。2020年更獲得紐約金古典音樂大獎冠軍。2022年，他分別於Charleston International Music Competition, The North International Music Competition及Medici International Music Competition中奪得冠軍，亞軍及季軍。於2023年，他成為美國奧克拉荷馬州立大學協奏曲比賽的優勝者並與管弦樂團演奏Glazunov薩克管協奏曲。 范氏畢業於香港中文大學，主修系統工程及工程管理。及後於香港演藝學院修讀音樂學士學位，在學期間獲得香港特別行政區政府以及香港演藝學院所頒發的獎學金。范氏於2021年考獲全額獎學金前往美國奧克拉荷馬州立大學修讀碩士課程，跟隨Dr. Johnny Salinas及Dr. Jeffrey Loeffert主修薩克管演奏，同時擔任大學助教一職。 作為一名教育工作者，范氏積極參與不同的外展工作，包括舉辦美國奧克拉荷馬州All-State Band第二輪面試大師班，同時擔任面試評審。除此之外，他亦隨奧克拉荷馬州立大學木管學院教授到訪德州不同中學進行表演以及招募學生。 范氏熱衷於表演，現時為香港青年色士風樂團之高團指揮。 Kam-fung Fan began playing the saxophone in 2004. His teachers include Mr. Pluto Chu, Ms. Man-sze Tsang and Mr. Jacky Leung. He graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He then studied with Dr. Tak-chiu Wong at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in 2021. In 2021-2023, he pursued the Master of Music degree in performance with full scholarships and worked as a graduate teaching assistant at Oklahoma State University under the guidance of Dr. Johnny Salinas and Dr. Jeffrey Loeffert. As a soloist, Kam-fung was the winner of The Elbe Valley International Music Festival Competition 2017 (Woodwinds class). He was also a finalist in The 1st and 2nd Asia Pacific Saxophone Competition. In 2020, he was awarded 1st prize in the “Golden Classical Music Awards’’ International Competition. In 2022, he received the 1st prize in the Charleston International Music Competition, the 2nd prize in The North International Music Competition, and the 3rd prize in the Medici International Music Competition. In 2023, he performed Glazunov’s saxophone concerto with Oklahoma State University Symphony Orchestra as a winner of OSU concerto competition. In addition to competitions, Kam-fung has received different scholarships, including the Hong Kong Government Scholarship, The Society of APA Local Scholarships 2019/20, and HKAPA Scholarship 2020/21. As an educator, Kam-fung has participated in different outreach activities, such as giving a master class and serving as a judge for Oklahoma All-State Band second round audition, as well as taking part in the recruiting tours at Texas high schools with OSU’s woodwind faculty.
