Kathy obtained her Bachelor of Arts (honours) in Music Education at Hong Kong Baptist University where she studied with Ms. Nancy Loo, Prof. Waichung Ho, Dr. Yoonie Han, Dr. Karl Lo and Dr. Elsa Lee. She has been invited to masterclasses with Paul Cibis and Raymond Young. She has won numerous prizes in various competitions, including Hong Kong school music festival and the Hong Kong (Asia) Piano Open Competition. Aside from music performance, Kathy is also a dedicated educator. She reviewed the correlation between musical creativity and music therapy, and proposed an integrated framework of musical creativity and music therapy as her graduation thesis. Her internship experiences in music therapy and expressive arts therapy, as well as her active participation in Musical Therapeutic Activities Certificate Course issued by the Hong Kong Academy for Performance Arts, further cultivated the creative and inclusive side of her teaching. She has taught students from diverse backgrounds and levels since 2017.
